Tralala is Drew Price and Chris Trewin, a songwriting partnership that came about during the first couple of months of the pandemic. Drew had a collection of songs he’d been gathering over the years, and Chris was looking for a new collaborative partner after San Francisco shoegaze band Your Cannons disbanded.


Their early demos and Instagram vignettes got the attention of James Doviak (Johnny Marr’s producer and bandmate), who is now handling the final mixing of their songs as they work on their debut album, which is slated for an early 2023 release.


The latest release is the double-A single “Winded / What’s the Point” which drops to streaming services on July 1, 2022. Winded is the lead single, a synth lead hypnotic head nodder, followed by the brooding and off-kilter build of What’s the Point.


Both tracks have been described as “synth-laden, dark, atmospheric, vibey, melodic, and conjuring a sense of 80’s and 90’s nostalgia.” It’s their best work to date.


Musically, Tralala take their cues from the bands they grew up with through the 80's, 90's, and early 00's. Chris’s post-punk bass lines meld with power-pop guitar solos, retro synths and frenetic drums...all intertwined with Drew's layered vocal melodies.


Their eclectic sound has fetched comparisons to Interpol, Television, The Cardigans, The Horrors, St. Etienne, Bowie, Real Estate, and the Pixies.
